Being a passionate reader of Italo Calvino i discovered Six memos for the next millenium. A series of lectures the italian author had planned to give at the Harvard University. With themes as lightness, fastness, exactness, visibility and multiplicity he created a beautiful panorama in literature. Intrigued by the themes i started collecting the books mentioned in the lectures. It became a fascinating and inspiring quest through literature.
“Bookshelves” is concerned with collecting and what collections bring about. It’s about my personal collection after the six memos.., but even more about other peoples collections. About sharing inspiring books! I asked different people to participate and send me pictures of their most inspiring, fascinating or surprising part of their bookshelf.
